Pop up Mouse

For this card, I used another great image I received from Crystal on the Express Image swap thread at Splitcoast. This one is a Whipper Snapper Image called Pop Up Mouse - they have so many cute images! I used my CTMH markers to colour, ribbon is from Bo Bunny and buttons are CTMH.
Not sure if I'll get many cards made this week - my guess is no since we are having our new furnace/AC installed tomorrow and that means lots of rearranging of stuff to make room for the installation crew to work. I may get to post though as I have a few photos saved up. Have a great week!

Fun with chipboard...

So, when I last posted, I told you all I was going to a crop. I managed to complete 2 1/2 layouts and five or six cards in amongst the socializing. I really want to post my layouts, but was having a really hard time photographing them today - no sun to be found and the flash is "erasing" the photos. Will try again when we get some sun. Anyhow, despite the need for flash, I did manage to take half decent photos of some of the cards I made. These are totally different from anything I've ever posted - I used the Jack's World line from Cosmo Cricket to create a fun layout and decided that some of the paper and chipboard embellishments would make super easy, but fun cards! Besides scraps from the layout, I stamped some sentiments on Cranberry CS (CTMH), added some ribbon and buttons and voila some super easy cards. Don't they just scream Happy? Hope you all had a great weekend! As for me - well I put in about 16 hours of scrapping, stamping and socializing with friends - so although I could use a little sleep, I had a seriously fabulous weekend!

Thinking of You

This is another "pre-copic" card and on this one, I can really see the difference. I might have used a sketch for this card, but I made it a little while ago and can't seem to recall. Well, this is a quick post as I'm off to a Crop! It should be a fun time and it is a fundraiser for the local Therapeutic Riding Association, a great cause. It goes from 7 til Midnight tonight and 9 til 9 tomorrow - so hopefully, I will have lots of fun stuff to post on Sunday! Though you wouldn't know if from checking out my blog, I am a scrapbooker too, I just haven't been getting any scrapping done lately. Happy Friday!

Odd Bird Planet Earth Day Challenge

Ace here is my entry into the Odd Bird Planet Earth Day Challenge. The challenge on Sparkle's blog is to create a card using the colours blue, green and brown. I don't yet have any stamps from Odd Bird Planet, so Ace will have to do - thanks to Mom2Maya over on the Image Swap thread at Splitcoast! :) I know I'll be using this image for some other fun cards. He is coloured using my new copics. The sentiment is CTMH with CS colours New England Ivy, Indian Corn Blue and Outdoor Denim. I can't recall for certain the source of the DSP as it may have been from my scrap pile.

Let's all remember to take care of our earth - it's the only one we have and I would like for my children's children and their grandchildren to enjoy in all it's glory!

Love You Mom....

My Mom has been undergoing regular treatments for a back problem and has been feeling not so great that last while. With my Mom, you know it's bad when she actually admits that it hurts because she has a super high tolerance for pain! She is also bored because after trying to undergo the treatments and go to work for a couple of weeks, the doc finally so no, this isn't going to work - so Mom has been told! Have I told you how much energy my Mom has (even when in pain, it is hard to slow her down) - so this is hard for her. I wanted to send her a little "pick me up" to cheer her up, so I put this card together for her.

I had been anxious to use my new Magnolia image, "Stylish Tilda" and decided it was perfect for this card. I just love pink and brown together. The CS is chocolate brown and baby pink from CTMH and the patterned paper is from CTMH's More to Adore paper pack (can you tell I'm a CTMH consultant?) Tilda is coloured using mostly my copics, but some CTMH blush in there since I have yet to acquire any "girly" copic colurs. I used liquid pearls around the edge of my scallop punch to dress it up a little. I just love my copics and can hardly wait to get more. My LSS owner has them on order and I can't wait until she calls to tell me they are here!!!

If you are reading this Mom, I love you lots and sure hope this treatment helps you feel better. Try to take it easy eh? Love and Hugs! xoxoxo

Happy Birthday Auntie!

Yesterday was my Auntie Sybil's Birthday - this is the card I sent to her. I received this cutie image from Shana on the Express Image swap at Splitocoast - thanks Shana! I coloured her with my watercolour pencils and blended with blending stumps and baby oil. I had never tried that technique before, but it turned out pretty good, I could use more practice though. The patterned paper is from my scrap bin, so cannot recall where it is from, but the flowers are Prima. The brown ribbon is just one of the fabulous yummy ribbons I picked up when I was a Scrapfest at Mall of America last year! I just love ribbon!!

Love ya Auntie, Hope you had a great day!

You're in my thoughts

Wow, I cannot believe it's already Tuesday and I haven't posted since Saturday... so it goes. I received this cute Whiff of Joy image from a swap thread at Splitcoast and just had to make a card. I coloured her first using my blender pen and watercolour pencils and then found paper to match. I cannot recall the source of the DSP, but the cardbase is Bo Bunny's ocean dot CS and the ribbon is also Bo Bunny. I added a couple of buttons and a rub on and voila! I may just send this card along to a friend who is just a little stressed right now! Have a great week!

Hang in there

I have had this Changito image for some time, but hadn't gotten around to making a card with him. This image was coloured pre-copic, so I used my CTMH markers. I was thrilled to find that this ribbon matched the paper I had pulled out perfectly! I made my sentiment with my Around the Block labeller, which I don't use often enough. Happy Saturday!

Edwin with Christmas Lantern

I recently placed my very first Magnolia order and this cutie is one of the first I coloured. I had fun making this wintery Christmas Card with non-traditional colours. Edwin is coloured using my new copics (they are so fun!). Card base is brown bazzil (love this stuff) and brads are CTMH outdoor denim. I used my Marvy oval and oval scallop punch and did some hand stitching along the bottom. Another Christmas card to add to my pile for Sparkle's Christmas card challenge. Cheers!

Happy Easter!

This is the first card I made with Phoebe Ketto from Stamping Bella! Isn't she so cute? I colored her using my CTMH markers as I made this card before I got my copics. Of course, I had to add some Stickles to her hearts. I also used some tiny CTMH flowers with teal Kaiser pearls in the centre. The sentiment is a rub-on from my stash. Thanks for looking and I hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend!

Christmas Tilda

Well, apparently it's been a busy week - I haven't posted since Monday! I went back to work after being off for six weeks, so it was back to the regular routine. I know what you're thinking, Christmas? It's Easter for goodness sake! Well, Sparkle is doing a Christmas Card Challenge over at her blog - I am not keeping up the pace, but figure I"d try to get maybe 4 done each month - at that rate, I should have at least 44 completed by the end of November, lots more than I usually have done at that time. At last count, I have 18 finished, so I"m trucking along pretty good I think! (I have never had this many completed this early in the year!)

Anyhow, about the card. I recieved this beautiful Tilda image from a swap over at Splitcoast Stampers and just had to get her coloured and onto a card. She is sitting on a cute chair that is also from Magnolia. The DSP is CTMH from the More to Adore paper pack, the CS is Chocolate, Pondersosa Pine and Vineyard Berry. Might be hard to tell from the photo, but I just had to add some little rhinestones to the punched out hearts in the corner. Have a great weekend!

Flowers

I just had to use this cute image I received from Shana in a swap at Splitcoast Stampers. The image is called "Flowers" from Sugar Nellie. With the exception of the face, the image was coloured with my CTMH markers as I coloured this one before I got any copics. The sentiment is from CTMH. CS is Bo Bunny's seafoam dot paper - did anybody notice that I love Bo Bunny! Their dot CS is so great! Happy Monday!

I get by with a little help from friends - and family...

These cards were made by my Mom! Mom always says she loves what I do, but she doesn't think she has the patience to do it... She is very creative, so I can see her getting into it one day, maybe if she can stay home long enough - she is always on the go, I don't know where she gets her energy from!

I had surgery nearly six weeks ago which meant I needed six weeks off work, couldn't drive for a month, wasn't allowed to do housework, at the least for the first few weeks, etc. I must say I don't know what I would have done without the help of friends and family. My dear friend, Donna drove me to the hosptial, stayed with me and waited until I was out of recovery and as comfortable as I could be in my room. Am I ever glad for that since it would have been hard for my husband to keep me calm as we tend to talk about the family business lots when we are together! Donna and I had no problem yaking about scrapbooking and stamping and the time passed quickly. My good friend and neighbour, Danielle, kindly offered to receive my boys from the school bus and give them dinner, amongst other things, a number of times in the few weeks following the surgery, and this was so helpful. My little sister, who was just married in January and had just returned from her honeymoon, flew up to help take care of the boys and do the cooking & laundry. A week after she left, my parents arrived, just in time for March Break - perfect as they kept my boys busy and managed to entertain me a little as well. By the time all of my wonderful helpers had come and gone, I was really starting to perk up and feel more like myself. It was near the end of my Mom's visit that she decided she wanted to make a couple of cards. The first one she made for our dear friend who had surgery this past Thursday. (I heard from her family and she is holding her own so far, but is not yet ready for visitors, she remains in our thoughts.) The second was for my son's Birthday. I thought she did a great job considering she put them together super quick!

Anyhow, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who offered and provided help to us, who sent flowers and cards and who kept me and my family in their thoughts as I recovered. I am doing well and will return to work on Monday. I'm thinking it will be a little bit of a rude awakening - it is not quite the same as being off for a week of vacation. It should be interesting! Like I said, I get by with a little help from my friend and family - I couldn't do it without them. Thank you so much guys!

Wishing you well....

I put this card together a couple of weeks ago for a family friend we call "Grandma" even though she is not related - I'm sure you know what I mean.... Anyhow, she has been in hospital the last few weeks. I saw her again a couple of days ago and found out that she was to have an operation yesterday. We have not yet heard from her family to hear how it went, but she and her family are in our thoughts.

The image on the card is from Imaginisce. I stamped in Hollyhock (CTMH) and flocked the flower with Snow Cone Blue flock from Stampendous. The flourish is from the CTMH flourish set and the sentiment is also from CTMH - Say it in Style (love this set!) Nothing too fancy, but I love how it turned out. I actually made up an Easter card very similar to this - quick and easy - I still have a few more to make, so will be making a few more of these up!

I love Oakley!

Isn't he just the cutest little boy? I think he is fabulous - there are so many great girly images out there, but I have two boys, so I fell in love with Oakley when I first saw him. I received this Whiff of Joy image from my good friend Danielle who got it from an image swap or wishrak at Splitcoast, I believe - can't thank her enough for sharing!
The card base is New England Ivy (CTMH) with some ink distressing in Cocoa. DSP is from Basic Grey's Skate Shoppe line - I admit to hoarding this for a long time! I embellished with CTMH buttons. Thanks for stopping by.

Sunflower Thank you

Here is a card I made awhile back and sort of lost track of. Despite it's simplicity, I decided I liked it a lot and wanted to make several to have on hand. Well, I guess it was put out of sight, out of mind, so I was glad to "uncover" it the other day. The photo was taken by my hubby of one of the sunflowers my children planted this past summer. We planted the seeds late and I worried that we wouldn't get blooms, but they were beautiful and my boys were thrilled. Have a great evening!
