Peace

The challenge at Christmas Card Challenges this week is Anything Goes. It has been quite awhile since I played along as I haven't been making many Christmas cards lately and am a bit behind.

Here is a different version of a washi-based CAS card I made a little while ago, this time using those fab tiny jingle bells from SU!

Thanks for visiting!
Have a great day!

Piano smashing

Just a quick post to share a SMASH page I made quite awhile ago but didn't get around to posting. Just a quick one to record Chester's first piano exam last June - pretty exciting. He will sit the next one in January! LOVE having music in my kitchen all the time!

I haven't made it into my scrap room since my big trip last week, but would love to make it there tonight, we shall see if it is in the cards or not...

It was a good trip if long and a bit boring since I didn't have anyone to share the driving this time around. I actually checked my mileage - I managed to travel over 1100 kms in four days and fit in all my apts. Glad to be home and sleeping in my own bed once again and eating in my own kitchen! Believe it or not, you do get sick of hotels and restaurants when you travel like I do - or at least I do! Lol!

We spent a chunk of the day registering the boys for Nancy Greene ski program, purchasing season passes, getting photos taken and getting the boys geared up for the upcoming ski season! Geez, going into a ski shop is almost as bad as going into a scrapbook store, only more expensive!. Everything is eye candy! You should see the FAB and funky Anon. goggles I bought myself. On sale of course - Mom gets nothing unless its on sale, lol!

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

Hugs,
Shanna :)

An autumn sympathy card

I was in need of a couple of sympathy cards recently. Here is one I made with a fall theme thanks to inspiration from Inspired By. I enjoyed playing with my Autumn Accents dies and experimenting a little with my embossing folders, something I haven't done in awhile.

I am heading out on a four day work trip which means lots of driving, a bit of what we call "numb bum", overtime and probably not much blogging.
Have a great week!
Shanna :)

Frosty

By now, I always hope to have more Christmas cards done than I currently have - this is number 17. However, I think I've come up with a fun design that might allow me to get caught up lickety-split. What to you think?

I would like to share over at Papercraft star where there is a fab inspiration photo this week!

Happy Friday!
It was a very long and busy week, but I spent all day in my craft room and it has been so therapeutic!
Here is one of the cards I made. Thanks to Laurel at Inspired By for the inspiration photo, in particular the idea to use burlap!

Camp Duncan

Both of my boys attended an sleep away camp this summer and LOVED it! We felt much more comfortable sending them knowing that a friend of ours plays a big part in the organizing and running of the camp. She also has two boys who attend camp and was out there the whole week keeping things running.

After attending "parent's night" it was apparent just how much work goes into organizing the camp! The kids and counsellors put on quite a performance - musical and dramatic. I had been thinking it would be nice to send her a thank you when I came across this pre-coloured Riley on my desk and the card just sort of turned into a little scene. This is not my usual style and I tend to shy away from scenes, but it seemed to suit the occasion in any case.

So is it frosty where you are? We had our first frost Thursday night, and I managed to get my cucumbers picked and my plethora of green tomatoes covered. Tonight I sat down to check email once the boys were settled in bed and noticed another frost warning! So, I picked a few more green tomatoes hoping I can figure out how to ripen them indoors and proceeded to cover most of the rest of them. We'll see what happens I guess...

Here's hoping you've had a fantastic weekend! We went for a great hike on Saturday. I then spent most of today in my kitchen - lots of cooking and baking to prep for the week. I am finding if I prep lots on Sunday, I can avoid actually preparing a whole meal on Monday and Tuesday if I am lucky! Baking also helps fill up those lunch bags for the first couple of days of the week at least.

Thank you

Well hello!
Thanks for stopping by. I have been absent for too long, from blogging and from my craft room! It has been forever since I've been able to play along at Inspired By, so I was determined to make it happen. This is what I came up with.

And here is the Inspiration photo. Keeping this CAS and playing around with washi and chipboard was a great way to ease back into the craftspace!

Here's hoping you have a happy start to your weekend!
Shanna :)

washi tape from a variety of companies
chipboard stickers from studio G
