"Merry" for Jingle Belles

Happy Monday! Thanks for visiting while I was out! I had a fabulous weekend at Thunder Bay's first Crop & Create Crop. Just the girls and the scrappin' supplies - pure bliss!!! We rented rooms at the hotel even though the venue was in our hometown just to make the experience that much sweeter!  We scrapped to our heart's content, then stayed up sharing stories and loads of laughs for half the night. I've come home super inspired and itching to get back in the scrap room but alas, the real world was waiting for me first thing this morning. What a great weekend it was and I do have some stuff to share...

This card was made for a few challenges:

Jingle Belles - I'm dreaming of a pink Christmas (and a cure!) - the fabulous gals over at Jingle Belles are donating $4 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for every card shared during this challenge - what a wonderful idea!

* Summer's Colour Suite for September was one of the challenges at the crop (see inspiration photo below) - this was a different colour combo for me. I love putting pink and green together, but would not have thought to use a bright pink and would never have chose beige. This one stretched me for sure, but I love the results!

*Simon Says Stamp - Christmas

*Christmas Card Challenges - Christmas/Winter with the option of flowers

Warmest Wishes - Saturated Canary

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians out there! Happy Monday to everyone else!

For the first time in a looooooong time, I got out my copics and coloured!!! It had been long enough that I was afraid I'd forgotten how! lol

Today, I tried a technique that I learned over at Deb's Blog - Crafty Cardi Higgins - I love the way she distresses strips of paper (see a beautiful example here), pleats them and sews them onto her cards. I finally made a point of trying it out and I love how it worked on this card. Thanks Deb for the inspiration! I will definitely be trying this one again!

The current challenge at Saturated Canary is "Season's Greetings," so I would like to share over there. This was a fun colour combo to play with and I think I will use it again. And now that I have my copics out again, I am itching to colour of another of Krista's adorable images.

I would also like to share over at Christmas Card Challenges
and
CHNC Challenge - anything goes Christmas.

Thanks for visiting!

I love you

Isn't Sunday SWEET when Monday is a holiday? Oh how sweet it was today! Here in Canada, we have Monday off for Canadian Thanksgiving. Since we did our turkey dinner on Saturday, it left today mostly free. We took advantage of the gorgeous, sunny weather to take a hike out at Kakabeka Falls provincial park. My boys love the hike to Little Falls and I find it is a bit of a work-out as well due to the changes in elevation - bonus, no treadmill for this girl today! When we got back, I managed to spend a couple of hours in my much-neglected garden and now I'm going to hang out in my crafty space for a bit! A day well-spent!!!

Here is a card I made for hubby, once again using some recycled Starbuck's sleeves and some of my beloved washi tape collection. I have so much, but would you believe I have discovered over the last couple of days that there are a few colours, or shades that I do not have? Well, I think I will just have to go tape shopping soon! lol

I have rather loosely followed the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I lovely sketch that I think will be well-loved in future!

Thanks so much for visiting!
Shanna :)

Happy Haunting!

 Hello Saturday!!!

I had some fun with some Halloween papers from my stash! And I guess you could say I've been hoarding this cute little ghostie, but I love him on here!

I have used an altered version of this fab sketch shared at Scrapbook & Cards Today blog last weekend in celebration of World Card Making Day. I love this sketch and will definitely be using it again. I just love making these washi tape banners - so quick and easy!

I just love this bee stamp as it is an "all in one" kinda stamp - so quick and effective too! I went ahead and made two different versions of the card for my stash.

Another few for CAS(E) this sketch

Ok, so I warned you that I couldn't stop playing with this sketch! Here are a few more - each are similar with slight variations. A friend at work requested some thank you cards, so I thought these would be appropriate. I love the leaves from this rather old CTMH set (D1181 Autumn Splendor).

I played around with the backgrounds a bit - which do you prefer?

If I'm not too late, I would like to share:

The stockings were hung...

Wow - there have been so many great challenges to jump start the mojo this weekend! Lucky for me, it was a pretty rainy one, so I spent more time than usual in my scrap space!

This card is for Friday's sketch (#1) at the Bean Talk blog. I LOVE Jillibean soup, but have a tendency to hoard it a bit! Gasp! Well, their fab sketches gave me a good reason to pull out some of my fave collections and get busy!

And here is the sketch...

Butterfly

Hooray for Friday!

Today I am sharing my card for the current challenge at Cute Card Thursday where the challenge is - Signs of Distress.
There is no sentiment on this card yet, but I think I may add a tiny tag (SU punch) in the ribbon. I think that should work, but couldn't locate the stamp I wanted to use on it, so have left it for now. I do like to have a card or two in the stash that are generic enough to be used for a number of occasions and "doctored" up to when the time comes. This will be one of those.

Here's hoping your weekend is fabulous!

Shanna :)

What I used:
stamps
background & butterfly - Stamping Bella
flower - Tim Holtz "Flights of Fancy"
washi tape
seam binding SU
vintage buttons
old Webster's Dictionary pages
adhesive canvas from CTMH

Welcome Baby

Here is my take on the theme at Little Red Wagon this week - vintage or retro. A quick baby card for the stash. I adore this fab paper with all the fun images of vintage toys.
Today's toys just talk and squawk too much! How are children supposed to develop their imaginations when all the work is done for them? I am a big believer in good, old-fashioned toys!

Anyhow, hope you are having a fabulous week so far! We have been having incredibly nice weather for this time of year. I wore shorts this past weekend, on the last weekend of September!

Cheers,
Shanna :)
